In my manufacturing and production class, our final project required us to design a company capable of mass-producing an item. As a group, we decided to focus on pens as our product. My specific responsibility within the team was to design the factory layout, ensuring that the production process flowed efficiently and effectively. I carefully considered the different stages of production, from the initial raw materials to the final assembly and packaging, ensuring that each step was streamlined to minimize bottlenecks and maximize productivity. The goal was to create a layout that would not only optimize workflow but also ensure safety and minimize waste, all while maintaining flexibility for future scaling. This task involved researching best practices for factory design and collaborating with my team to make sure the overall production process was as efficient as possible.
