In my Introduction to Engineering class, our team of three was assigned the task of designing an object-avoiding robot. To accomplish this, we programmed an Arduino to create code that would allow the robot to detect obstacles in its path and navigate around them. It was a great opportunity to learn about both robotics and programming, and we spent a lot of time fine-tuning the robot’s behavior to make it work as smoothly as possible.
Although the project didn’t require any additional features, our team decided to have a little fun and add a unique touch. Inspired by a viral moment in Houston, we decided to incorporate swangas.
